Aegis is the security force of Horizon Industries. All of it's members have been taken in by Horizon from Earth's streets or in the vast deserts outside Horizon's walls, and as such are tough, fearless, and used to great hardship. They were key in stopping the 2260 rebellion's assassination plot against President Sparrow and are the enforcers of Horizon's iron grip on earth.
